Security Guarding

Introduction

This three day Basic Job Training Programme (BJT) is designed to assist companies in the provision of Basic Job Training, that meets part one of the SIA requirements for licensing (part two covers Communication and Conflict Management and is available separately from Inspired Training). The course content also complies with the recommended training syllabus in the British Standard for BS7499 - Static Site Guarding and Mobile Patrol Services.

Who Should Attend

This BJT is appropriate to new entrants to the industry; people transferring from other security functions, as well as those, whose job includes some security elements and existing security staff requiring a qualification in order to apply for an SIA licence.

Course Content

The course contains twelve modules, covering the following areas:

• Roles and responsibilities

• Patrolling

• Access control

• Searching

• Security and emergency systems

• Fire awareness

• Health and safety

• The law (England, Scotland and Wales)

• Equality and diversity

• Emergencies

• Customer care and social skills

• Communications and reporting

Additional modules are included for the Retail and Higher Education Sectors.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course, delegates will have achieved the required level of knowledge and understanding in the areas listed above.

As an approved training provider we are able to offer many clients access to national fundiing streams to assist with or even fully meet any fees due. Funding streams are normally time limited and can be dependent on location
